We are blessed to welcome Pastor Tom Covington as our Interim Pastor at The Church at Haynes Creek. Pastor Tom brings decades of faithful ministry experience and a heart for serving God’s people during times of transition.

Pastor Tom holds a Master of Arts degree in Christian Studies from Luther Rice Seminary and University, where he graduated in 2010, and was ordained the same year. His educational foundation also includes an undergraduate degree in criminal justice from the University of Georgia. Before entering full-time ministry, Pastor Tom served his community through the Department of Family and Children Services in Newton County, demonstrating his commitment to caring for others both professionally and spiritually.

Throughout his ministry career, Pastor Tom has served faithfully in pastoral roles, including his time as pastor of North Rockdale Baptist Church. His pastoral philosophy centers on loving people and being faithful to the gospel of preaching grace. As he has shared, “I would much rather people remember that their life was changed and they met Jesus and the change that made, than anything I did or said.”

During this interim season, Pastor Tom is committed to providing steady spiritual leadership, faithful biblical preaching, and pastoral care for our church family. His experience in transitional ministry and his heart for meeting people where they are make him well-equipped to shepherd The Church at Haynes Creek as we seek God’s direction for our future.

We are grateful for Pastor Tom’s willingness to serve during this important time in our church’s journey and look forward to the ways God will use his ministry among us.

John joined The Church at Haynes Creek family in October 2024, bringing his passion for leading others into authentic worship through music and song. As our Worship Leader, John is responsible for planning and leading our weekly worship services, selecting music that aligns with our church’s mission and values, and coordinating with our talented worship team to create meaningful worship experiences.

With a deep commitment to spiritual growth and community building, John brings both musical excellence and authentic faith to his role. He is dedicated to mentoring and supporting our volunteer worship team members, helping them grow both musically and spiritually as they serve our church family.
